The West Bengal Handloom and Khadi Weavers Financial Benefit Scheme 2024 aims to support the handloom and khadi weavers of West
Bengal by providing financial assistance for various purposes. The scheme includes the following components:

Support for One Time Settlement (OTS) of NPA Accounts
Financial assistance to clear 100% overdue principal and 25% overdue interest of NPA accounts. Example: If a Primary Weavers'
Cooperative Society (PWCS) has an overdue principal of ₹1 lakh and overdue interest of ₹1 lakh, the government will cover ₹1
lakh principal and 25% of the interest (₹25,000). The remaining interest will be written off by the bank.

Assistance to Viable and Potentially Viable PWCS
Financial assistance ranging between ₹1 lakh and ₹10 lakh based on the extent of activity.

Assistance to Individual Handloom Weavers
₹5,000 for repair/renovation of work sheds and looms. ₹10,000 for raw material assistance, with yarn procured through Tantuja.
Objective of the Scheme:

Debt Relief: To make Primary Weavers' Cooperative Societies (PWCS) debt-free by providing financial support
for the One Time Settlement (OTS) of Non-Performing Asset (NPA) accounts.

Sustainable Livelihood: To provide financial assistance to societies and individual weavers for creating
sustainable livelihood options.

Development and Employment: To accelerate and focus on the development of handloom and khadi weavers,
maximize resource utilization, and generate additional employment opportunities.
NOTE : Applications can be submitted online or offline in the prescribed format. The process involves scrutiny
by district and state-level committees, and recommendations will be made based on eligibility and documentation.

The following categories of weavers are eligible under this Scheme:
Handloom Weavers:
- Type I: Entrepreneur Weavers (Master Weavers).
- Type II: Individual Weavers/Allied Workers associated with handloom weaving.
- Type III: Cooperative Fold Weavers/Weavers associated with handloom clusters.
Khadi Weavers:
- Weavers associated with Khadi societies registered under relevant acts.
The list of documents to be submitted during the online/offline application form submission:
For PWCS and Khadi Societies:
- Application in the prescribed format.
- Proof of registration and operational status.
- Financial statements and records of overdue accounts.
For Individual Handloom Weavers:
- Application in the prescribed format.
- Proof of being a registered handloom weaver.
- Documentation of repair/renovation needs and raw material requirements.
